Synopsis
A seasoned performer must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run. A wistful showcase for Pamela Anderson in a refreshingly dramatic role, The Last Showgirl pays homage to the working class of Las Vegas with a superb collection of performances.
After 30 years, Shelley's (Pamela Anderson) show in Las Vegas is cancelled. Facing an uncertain future and emotionally floundering, the 50-year old showgirl tries to reconnect with a daughter she hardly knows, which proves just as difficult as losing the only job she has ever had. Bolstered by her best friend Annette (Jamie Lee Curtis), a brash cocktail waitress who laughs a little too loud and too often, Shelley must find her place in a world that she shut the stage door on years before. Director Già Coppola has crafted a touching and bittersweet homage to a dancer in the twilight of her career with this nocturnal Las Vegas film. Pamela Anderson delivers a heartwarming performance in the perfectly cast lead role.

Reviews
Gia Coppola gives Anderson the best role she’s ever had in The Last Showgirl... Anderson hasn’t been taken seriously as an actress or in her personal life, and here, she gets to prove decades of her critics wrong.
Anderson’s transformative performance is undeniably affecting.
A triumphant proclamation that no matter how faded your sequins or dull your rhinestones, no one can take away or diminish a loving heart.
